BREAKING NEWS !! Finally after all the hopes and dreams for an improved site, we're going to have one, we have now agreed the terms to produce the next version of this lovely (but a bit awkward) website.... it is to be produced by none other than Kosso - the mastermind behind Phreadz - google him, he really is the web don out there, we're going to have a really kick ass site coming up and you won't have to do a thing, sit back and watch....I'll keep you updated as we get into it but over the next few months this is going to evolve into a site that will bring us into the sphere of true web connectedness.

FYI - there's over 50,000 of you coming here every month, meeting and connecting with each other !

**NEW BOOK**
Anyone who has been inspired by the book or this site, I'd love to hear from you, tell me what you're doing, how it may have helped you or anything that may have come from it....send me an email and thanks to those that already have - another book is in the brewing and I'm going to include some the best stories and profiles into it.

DAW has enabled me to showcase my work and network with fellow creatives. It is a unique space to show off your talent to the world, find people to colloborate with or inspire you.

shortly after graduation I discovered an opportunity to exhibit my work at the DAW head quarters for one month.  With the fantastic advice and support from Lee McCormack of DAW, Hannah Francis, John Burton and Neil Fox I put an exhibition together of shortfilms and fashion garments.   This experience enabled me to learn more about hosting and marketing a public art event.

I am currently working in advertsing and graphics in the marketing department of a luxury women's wear brand I have been freelancing as a textile print designer and also sell limited edition prints on www.glimpseonline.com ( who approached me after visiting my DAW profile).

i am very much looking forward to the new site!

Cheers Lee! The book inspired many including me, it's been great to work with you and I look forward to continuing to help you with all the positive work that the whole community benefits from. I've seen the difference you've made first hand and I know the sacrifices that you ... and everyone that's worked on it, have made.

Whoop! New site in the pipe sounds super fantastic; a fresh slice of web 2.0 is just what the doctor ordered. Real excited DAW will be working with K and company. The book and site helped me find and work with a plethora of interesting, engaging and innovative people. Here's to many more years and many more wankers =D

How the site has helped me...it has become my first point of call if I need to find a creative to collaborate with, swap skills, and employ on a short term project.
For an exhibition I collaborated with several animators from the site who came up with some great short film/stills.  And I have found creatives to help me work on a demanding project.
all in all the site for me is a must have and I look forward to the day when it becomes an easy thing to use!
thanks

The book was of great interest to me because it showed the progression from student to professional, and touched on many areas that i would have otherwise been in the dark about. It was comforting to realise that I am not on a lonely or undiscoverd path but one that has been walked many times before and with many levels of sucess!
I feel the site is the perfect accompaniment to the book as it allows students, graduates and professionals to share experinces and ideas on a common ground, in a less formal way. This makes the prospect of becoming a design professional easier to grasp, and far less daunting!
Many thanks to Lee and the DAW team, Looking forward to seeing the new site!!

That book made my day, and more days that had to come yet.
I think at first was the title that grabbed my attention , but then the unpretentious and clear, friendly and genuine, way it was written in, made me love it.
I was just arrived in London after a long time working as a designer in Italy with no clues on how to start a creative career in a foreign country were I could barely speak its language.
I had been struggling for months trying to understand how to get into the environment I needed to be in, an environment made of people that speak the same language: design, art, creativity in general, no matter where they were from and what was their native language.
DAW introduced me to this, it brought me to Shoreditch (it actually introduced me to my actual boss, and Guru, and great friend Paul Daly), and kept me in touch with the most interesting and creative persons in this amazing area.
Now, after almost 3 years, so far, I feel like I am a big part of a highly creative environment, I got a really interesting and challenging creative job and I share my spare time with people that is building all this situation in the hearth of London.
I am glad you guys are improving the website and I can't wait to read your new book.
What you guys are doing is great and I will be always ready to support it.
Thanks to Lee, Paul, Hugo, Richard, Liliana, Jamie and all the Plebs I have met!

Luigi
